Cleveland's Brady Quinn was impressive, but most of the attention in the game was given to the quarterback that did not play in the 24-20 contest.

Cleveland, OH (Sports Network) - Cleveland quarterback Brady Quinn's 13-of-17, 133-yard performance was overshadowed by a legend who didn't even play, as New York's 24-20 preseason victory over Cleveland was put on the back burner with the Jets trading for Brett Favre on Thursday.
Favre officially joined the team on Thursday in a press conference before the team's preseason game in Cleveland. Favre was traded to the Jets for a 2009 conditional draft pick.
According to NFL.com, the Packers will receive a fourth-round pick in 2009 and the selection would turn into a third-round pick if Favre plays in 50 percent of the plays this season, a second-rounder if he plays in 70 percent and the Jets make the playoffs, or a first-round pick if he plays in 80 percent and the Jets make it to the Super Bowl. Late Wednesday night, Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum held a conference call and revealed details of the acquisition. He said the club had multiple discussions with Favre, going over all the concerns of bringing him into the Jets' fold. Favre will be going to a new city with a new system after 16 seasons in Green Bay.
On the field, Brett Ratliff was 14-of-20 for 252 yards and two touchdowns for the Jets (1-0), who also saw Oregon product Kellen Clemens excel on 4-of-6 passing for 31 yards.
David Clowney was the star receiver on Thursday, hauling in four passes for 163 yards and a pair of touchdowns. His first, a 71-yard pitch-and-catch tied the game at 7-7. His 70-yard scoring strike from Ratliff got the Jets within 20-17 with 12:05 left in the fourth quarter.
Dwight Lowery's 62-yard punt return put the Jets in front to stay, 24-20, with 10:02 on the clock.
Derek Anderson -- who finished 4-of-5 for 20 yards and a TD pass -- found Braylon Edwards from two yards out for a 7-0 lead in the first quarter. It was Edwards' only catch in what was a brief night for the Browns (0-1) star.
Jason Wright, who carried the football seven times for 17 yards, scored from one yard away following Clowney's first touchdown catch to give the Browns a 14-7 lead. Mike Nugent and Jason Reda exchanged field goals to leave the Browns in front 17-10 after three quarters.
Game Notes
Favre was reinstated by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell on Sunday after retiring in early March in a tear-filled press conference. He was added to the Packers' roster on Monday, but did not practice with the club. Favre leaves Green Bay as the NFL's all-time leader in most major passing categories -- touchdowns (442), yards (61,655), completions (5,377) and attempts (8,758) -- and his 253-game starting streak remains intact. By playing 16 seasons in a Packers uniform (1992-2007), he matches Bart Starr (1956-71) for the longest tenure in team history among his 30 team records. Now he brings those startling credentials to the Jets...Jerome Harrison led Cleveland with 31 yards rushing...Donte' Stallworth caught two passes for 14 yards in his debut with the Browns...Jets tight end A.J. Schable was carted off the field after a head-to-head hit from Cleveland offensive lineman Cliff Louis on a kickoff return. He remained in a curled-up position before he was placed on a stretcher.
